firefoxI am a freelance graphic designer living in Boston, Massachusetts. I graduated from Boston University College of Fine Arts in May 2007 and immediately established David Tran Designs to respond to clients’ demands. Art has always captivated my attention from early childhood whether through drawing or designing Lego models. I eventually started learning Photoshop on my own out of boredom and began designing both visually stimulating and innovative graphic materials in 2004. Once I engaged in Graphic Design studies at Boston University, I knew I had truly found my vocation. I recently discovered photography and have been working on several shooting projects. As much as I strive to deliver the most amazing work in my designs, I am equally eager to capture the perfect moment in my photography.

For two years, I worked as an intern at WCVB-TV News Channel 5 Boston designing on-air graphics for the broadcasting news and various projects such as signage and public service announcements (PSA). This experience gave me a lot of insight into the world of communication. I also completed a semester-long internship at PeopleCube Corporation. My tasks included redesigning their logo, identity package such stationery and website. My honed skills subsequently gave me the confidence to get involved in other different projects such as with the Race for Rights or with the Vietnamese Community in Boston. I even became a chairman on the Design sub-committee of the New Year Tet and have been holding that position for the last three years.

My passion for design is the motor behind my graphic creations ranging from marketing brochures and logos to ad products. I have developed myself into a dynamic project manager who can oversee projects from concept to completion. I measure my success by the relationships I form with my clients and their numerous referrals. My clientele is diverse from a ballroom dance studio to a dental office. I intend to move forward into the future by excelling in both Graphic Design and Photography.

The road I’ve taken and that I’m traveling on can be summed up in one word: determination. I believe that if you can recognize your strengths and weaknesses, if you are true to yourself and your work, if you are honest to your clients, good will happen whether it’s designs, photos or clients.
